Destiny 2 Path of the Splicer quest steps: How to complete the weekly seasonal quest

Publish date: 2022-11-06

Destiny 2's Path of the Splicer is a questline running throughout Season of the Splicer.

Similar to Challenger's Proving during Season of the Chosen, this provides structure to the season's new activities and features, with each week tasking you with using the Splicer Gauntlet and opening chests in Override.

From step three onwards, this questline gives access to new Expunge missions, which are also required to be completed as part of the quest.

This page explains every Path of the Splicer quest step as they were released - perfect if you want to reach a specific Expunge mission or fall behind and want to catch up before the season ends.

Season of the Haunted is here! Get up to speed with our levelling guide. For The Witch Queen, learn how to get Exotics including Dead Messenger and Parasite. Late last year, we saw the Bungie 30th Anniversary, which adds the Grasp of Avarice dungeon, Strange Coins and new Exotics, including the Gjallarhorn and Forerunner.

When does the Path of the Splicer quest expire?

Though Path of the Splicer is the seasonal quest for Season of the Splicer, it doesn't have to be completed fully before the season ends.

Provided you've started Path of the Splicer while the quest was initially active, these steps - as well as all associated activities, including Override and the Expunge missions - will remain in the game until the end of Season 15, or until the start of 'Year 5' when The Witch Queen expansion arrives.

This is all part of Bungie's attempts to address FOMO (fear of missing out), allowing you to continue to play previous activities for longer, even if later seasons shift their focus to new ones.
