Little Nightmares release date slated for April, the cruelest month
Surreal children's horror tale Little Nightmares is due for release on 28th April for PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and GOG, publisher Bandai Namco has announced.
Developed by the Swedish Tarsier Studios (LittleBigPlanet Vita, Tearaway Unfolded), Little Nightmares was originally announced in 2014 when it had the working title of Hunger. Looking like the unholy union of Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Jan Švankmajer, Little Nightmares follows the exploits of a young girl named Six who is kidnapped and brought to a terrifying subterranean fortress called the Maw where creepy creatures want to gobble her up.
Those who pre-order digitally will receive a couple of in-game costumes: the Scarecrow Sack and the Upside-down Teapot Masks. PS4 and PC pre-orders also receive a soundtrack and dashboard theme.
The game's retail release will likewise include the original soundtrack while the special Six Edition, exclusive to GAME, also includes a 10 cm figurine of Six, along with a poster and sticker board.
In the meantime, you can check out a browser demo of Little Nightmares, offering an interactive video detailing it tutorial puzzles, or watch 11 minutes of early gameplay.
