Polite Society, Valentine Style and Americans at Rest are missions from Red Dead Redemption 2's second chapter, and act as an introduction to the town of Valentine.

Polite Society, Valentine Style

Polite Society, Valentine Style objectives:

• Return the lost wagon horse to its owner
• Find Karen within 45 seconds

Meet the Uncle at the camp and you'll embark towards Valentine by cart. Follow the course of the mini-map until you come across a man whose horse has bolted. If you decide to help, simply happy the Square (or X on Xbox) button while holding the left shoulder button while approaching the horse.

Doing this will increase your honor in the world - and it's worth doing good deeds while you can.

Make it into town, and follow uncle to the store. Use the book at the counter to buy a cigar - go into Provisions then Tobacco to find it. Once done, wait outside. After helping one of the girls in the alleyway, go into the hotel opposite to help the other.

Asking at the desk will reveal she's in room 2B, which is upstairs and the last room on the right. Press Circle (or B on Xbox) to fight back in the room.

The final part of the mission has you chase someone on horseback. Simply chase them until they fall off the cliff edge, and while they are hanging, make the decision to save or kill. As with the bolted horse earlier, it's your decision to help or not - and doing so will affect your honor in the world. With that done, the mission is over.

Americans at Rest

Americans at Rest objectives:

• Save Javier within 15 seconds
• Defeat Tommy within 1 minute 30 seconds

You start this mission by visiting Javier in the saloon at Valentine. It's short and sweet - a bar fight against various revellers. Press Circle (or B on Xbox) to punch and Square (or X on Xbox) to block. Soon you'll be told to help Javier, and are thrown onto the street outside.

Continue scrapping here, making sure you block and return punches when you can, and tap punch to escape any grapples, until the fight is up.

From here, a bunch of missions open up (at least they did for us) including Money Lending and Other Sins - 1, Paying a Social Call and Exit Pursued By a Bruised Ego.
