Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. What's new? Chapter 3 Season 3 has arrived! Fortnite Pirate Camp Locations at a glance
Unlike many other location-based challenges in Fortnite, you need to visit every single Pirate Camp location on the map for one of the challenges, whilst others have you use their Pirate Cannons in different ways.
There are seven Fortnite Pirate Camp locations in total to find.
Here they are at a glance:
In closer detail, the Pirate Camp locations are:
West of Pleasant Park, at the foot of the mountain among the trees:
Frozen lake, just to the north-east:
Lazy Lagoon, to the west as the river heads towards the cliff edge:
Volcano, to the south-west, in-between the volcano itself and the pool of lava towards the base:
West of Dusty Divot, at the foot of the mountain to the south:
North-west of Paradise Palms, next to the bridge between the grass and desert areas of the map:
West of Fatal Fields, on the flat mountain:
Chapter 3 Season 3 has arrived - bringing with it a new Battle Pass, character collection, map locations and Victory Umbrella! You can now ride animals, find Reality Seeds, and use the new Grapple Glove, and Victory Crowns have returned. If you're after a specific Battle Pass skin, then it's a good idea to know how to get XP fast.
How do you complete all 7 Fortnite Pirate Camp locations?
For the Week 1 Challenges, you are tasked with the following:
- Visit all Pirate Camps (7 total, 5 Battle Stars)
Across the map are Pirate Camps. These are tall wooden structures added to Fortnite Season 8, often replacing many lesser-known but fan favourite locations, such as the house on top of the mountain near Fatal Fields, and the derelict mansion west of Pleasant Park.
You know you're in the right place thanks to their telltale pirate flag on a mast, with several cannons littered throughout, pointing outside.
Once you have come across one, all you have to do is get close to it. If you are flying in, then actually landing somewhere on the structure, or within the grounds, is required - just breezing past it won't do.
You know it's done correctly when the challenge notification appears in the upper left of the screen.
In order to complete the Pirate Camp locations, you need to visit all seven. As with other challenges, you must do these as you play matches (you cannot enter the map without other players), so you'll have to avoid combat encounters as you attempt to find each location.
How to visit 3 Pirate Camps in a single match
Finally, if you're going after the How to visit 3 Pirate Camps in a single match challenge, this is easiest done in one of two ways:
If you're struggling with this particular challenge - specifically, when coming up against other players who kill you - then playing in an LTM such as Team Rumble, where you can respawn and / or are part of a larger team with less chance of coming up against the opposition - will help.
Fortnite Pirate Cannon locations and how to deal damage with Pirate Cannons
Pirate Cannons are available at all the Pirate Camps we mentioned above, plus a small number of other spots.
Specifically, those additional cannons that can be found at alternative locations to the above Pirate Camps are:
South-Eastof Junk Junction, in the back of a large-ish truck with a pirate flag, in quadrant C2.
At Lazy Lagoon, on the ship and in the pirate town facing towards it, in quadrant F3.
South of Paradise Palms on top of the smaller of two tricks with pirate flags, on the road, in quadrant I9.
North-West of Happy Hamlet, by a small structure in the snow, quadrant C9.
How to deal damage with Pirate Cannons
Completing the challenge by dealing damage with Pirate Cannons is simple enough - at least on paper.
You can interact with the cannon by pressing E (on PC), like you would with any interactable object in Fortnite, and then drive it around freely. You'll need a spot of luck and a good aim, but it's fired just like any weapon, so give it a bit of time and you'll get the damage in!
When you are done, there are plenty of other Challenges to take on this week - so keep playing!
