Pokémon Dynamax Adventures Legendary Pokémon and Ultra Beasts list
You may find yourself battling a Legendary Pokémon or Ultra Beast in a Dynamax Adventure, which was introduced in the Crown Tundra for Pokémon Sword and Shield.
While Ultra Beasts have to be unlocked by completing all of the Peony's adventures, you'll be able to battle and, hopefully, catch Legendary Pokémon in the Dynamax Adventures from the moment you unlock this feature.
Below you find every Legendary Pokémon and Ultra Beast that makes an appearance in the Dynamax Adventures.

Legendary Pokémon list for Dynamax Adventures: Which legendaries are exclusive to Pokémon Sword or Shield?
Throughout your Dynamax Adventure in the Crown Tundra, you'll find yourself battling against Legendary Pokémon from previous generations and, if you manage to defeat them, you'll be offered the opportunity to catch them.
It's important to know that, while you can encounter a Legendary Pokémon multiple times, you can only catch it once. This means that shiny hunters or trainers looking for specific stats might have to battle the same Legendary Pokémon multiple times, putting off the chance to catch it, until the right version of that Legendary Pokémon appears in the Dynmax Adventures.
Luckily, you can keep a record of up to three Legendary Pokémon, either from purchasing their location from Peonia for five pieces of Dynie Ore or encountering them yourself. These records will allow you to select this Legendary as the final boss for your Dynamax Adventure, ensuring you have an encounter with one of them.
A number of these Legendary Pokémon are, however, exclusive to either Pokémon Sword or Shield, which means that, playing by yourself, you won't be able to find them in a Dynamax Adventures.
Thankfully, if you're playing online you may find yourself in a Dynamax Adventure hosted by a player playing a different version of the game - Sword if you're own Shield and vice versa - then the Legendary Pokémon in the Dynamax Adventure can be from either game. This means that you don't have to conduct any trades or buy the other version of the game to catch every legendary available in the Dynamax Adventures.
Below you can find all of the Legendary Pokémon, arranged in National Pokédex order, that can be found in Dynamax Adventure, including which version they're available in:

Ultra Beasts list for Dynamax Adventures: How to unlock the Ultra Beasts in Pokémon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra explained
Legendary Pokemon aren't the only rare creatures that you can find in the Dynamax Adventure. You can also find the rare Ultra Beasts if you manage to complete all of Peony's legendary adventures in the Crown Tundra.
If you're stuck on one of Peony's adventures, here a look at the guide below:
- Adventure 1: The Sacred Bonds of Sovereign and Steed
- Adventure 2: The Terrible Titans... Lurking Locked Away
- Adventure 3: A Legendary Tree and A Legendary Three
Once you've finished all of the above quests, make sure you return to tell Peony and, after some minor events, you'll unlock the ability to fight Ultra Beasts in the Dynamax Adventure.
Like Legendary Pokémon, Ultra Beasts will appear randomly within the Dynamax Adventures so it might be a while till you manage to find one.
When you do, you'll need to battle and defeat it just like you would any other Pokémon. If you do manage to defeat it, you'll be given the chance to catch and keep the Ultra Beast.
There are 11 Ultra Beasts in total and they can all be found in both Pokémon Sword and Shield. Below you can find all of the Ultra Beasts that can be found in Dynamax Adventure, along with their typing, arranged in National Pokédex order:
