Destiny 2 - How to open the Vault and form the spire with Vex plates

Opening the Vault of Glass is your first step to taking on the raid.

Unlike the original Destiny, where players exploring the Venus patrol space could join you and help out, it's now just you and your fireteam in Destiny 2.

That said, the plan is still the same - standing on Vex plates and forming the spire to enter.

How to open the Vault and form the spire with Vex plates in Destiny 2

While a lot has changed in Destiny 2's Vault of Glass, this encounter should be one of the most familiar to veterans of Destiny 1's raids. It is virtually unchanged.

To gain access to the Vault of Glass, you and your team will need to build a spire that opens the door. To do that, you will need to spend time standing on plates, uninterrupted by enemies. There are three plates in the arena. One lower down on the left, one in front of the door and a third up on the right.

Late last year, we saw the Bungie 30th Anniversary, which adds the Grasp of Avarice dungeon, Strange Coins and new Exotics, including the Gjallarhorn and Forerunner.

The best way to do this is to split your team into three teams of two. Each group will have a plate which they will look after, doing their best to keep enemies off of it. If enemies touch the plate, progress on the spire will be halted.

However, after enough time of uninterrupted progress on all three plates, the spire will complete and open the door.

That's it. The only thing to really look out for are Cyclops that will periodically spawn and can kill you from a surprising distance. There are also void-shielded Minotaurs that will be a little tough, but keep a close-quarters weapon handy and you'll be fine.
