New Pokémon Snap - Glowing Crystabloom locations in the Lental Seafloor and Ruins courses explained

Publish date: 2022-09-14

For both the Lental Seafloor and Ruins course in New Pokémon Snap Professor Mirror will ask you to find a glowing Crystabloom, but you'll soon discover there isn't one to be found!

Instead you'll need to hunt down a Pokémon which is experiencing the Illumina phenomena in both of these courses to progress the storyline.

Illumina Pokémon in the Marcopia Islands have a pink glow to their bodies, while Pokémon on Aurus Island will have a golden shine.

How to find the glowing Crystabloom on the Lental Seafloor in New Pokémon Snap

Unlike previous courses in New Pokémon Snap, the Illumina Orbs for the Marciopia Islands are unlocked by taking a picture of a Pokémon experiencing the Illumina phenomenon rather than a Crystabloom.

The Pokémon in question is Frillish and it can be quite hard to find.

Once you've taken a picture of it though, you'll unlock the Pink Illumina Orbs, which can be used within every course, at any Research Level, across the Maricopia Islands. This includes the Beach, Reef, Undersea and any time variants they might have.

Where to find Frillish in the Undersea course of New Pokémon Snap

The Frillish experiencing the Illumina phenomenon in New Pokémon Snap can be found in the Undersea course of the Lental Seafloor on both Research Level 1 and Research Level 2.

To find this Frillish you need to journey through the Undersea course until you reach the top of the first underwater cavern; you'll know you're reaching the right place, because you'll be able to see Wailmer bullying another Pokémon.

As you descend into this cavern, focus on the right-hand side of the wall and you'll be able to see an opening to a small ledge.

The Frillish you're looking for is hiding just out of sight on this ledge, but, since the Neo-One will not directly travel over this ledge, you'll need to tease it out using Fluffruit.

Start throwing Fluffruit straight away, because you'll have less time than you think. We recommend having your camera in zoom to ensure you can take the best photo of Frillish as quickly as possible. You'll know it's the right Frillish, because it will have a pink glow to its body.

Once you've gotten the photo either finish the course or head straight back to the Research Camp, where Professor Mirror will use it to create the Pink Illumina Orbs.

How to find the glowing Crystabloom in the Ruins in New Pokémon Snap

Like the Lental Seafloor, the Illumina Orbs for the Ruins of Remembrance are unlocked by taking a picture of a Pokémon experiencing the Illumina phenomenon rather than a Crystabloom.

This Pokémon is Woobat and, compared to the Illumina Frillish, it's quite easy to find.

Once you've taken a picture of this special Woobat, you'll unlock the Gold Illumina Orbs, which can be used in the Ruins and the Ruins of Remembrance Illumina Spot.

Where to find Woobat in the Ruins course of New Pokémon Snap

The Woobat exhibiting the Illumina phenomenon in New Pokémon can be found in the Ruins course of the Ruins of Remembrance on both Research Level 1 and Research Level 2.

To find the Woobat you first need to travel through the opening section of this course, until you descend through the hole and into the first cave area.

Travelling through this small cave, you'll find a well sitting to the left of the doorway to the rest of the cavern.

All you need to do is throw a Fluffruit into this well and the Woobat will come flying out.

Depending on where the Neo-One currently is, the Woobat will either fly through the doorway or around in circles for a bit, before soaring behind your pod.

Either way, you need to quickly snap a number of pictures of Woobat while it's in sight.

Once you've taken a photo you can either complete the course or head straight back to the Research Camp, where Professor Mirror will give you the Gold Ilumina Orbs. That's if your Woobat picture is good enough, of course.
