The Strangers and Freaks missions are extra little adventures you can partake in throughout GTA 5.

These missions become especially important if you want to 100% the game, because you'll need to earn the gold medals from specific Strangers and Freaks missions to obtain this goal.

How GTA 5's Strangers and Freaks missions and gold medal checklist work

In addition to the main story missions in GTA 5, there are additional side encounters called Strangers and Freaks.

These are missions that are given to Michael, Trevor, and Franklin from the random, peculiar, people of Los Santos. These are generally short missions, but there are a few time-consuming ones that require Michael, Trevor, or Franklin to travel all over Los Santos to find parts, go on rampages or skydive over scenic locations.

Like the main story missions, you can earn a bronze, silver, or gold medal upon completion. A bronze medal is awarded by default, but to achieve a gold medal, you must meet a set of objectives. Fortunately, you can go back and replay most of these missions to earn a higher medal.

The checklists below are organised by the character who initiates the mission and most of the Strangers and Freaks missions can only be unlocked by completing the preceding mission.

To achieve 100% completion of GTA 5, you need to finish 20 specific missions out of the 58 possible. The missions needed for 100% completion are marked as such.
