Specifically, these are found in the following locations.

How floating Lightning Bolts work in Fortnite

For the Week 1 Challenges, you are tasked with the following:

Another challenge from this week is the Fortnite Risky Reels treasure map location.

What this means is across the map, there are floating Lightning Bolts to be found.

Similar to last season's Fortnite letters, these are Lightning Bolts high up in the sky - akin to collectables you might find in other games.

Once you find a Lightning Bolt, interact with it to pick it up and you'll add one more to your total. Once you have found seven, the challenge has been completed.

However, unlike Fortnite Letters, these are much less inaccessible. Though easy to detect from a distance, they are high up in the air - further than any jump. And no, you can't grab them while gliding from the Battle Bus - we tried!

The only solution is to build up to them. Our building guide explains the basics of how to do this, but you'll want to construct ramps, elevating you to the same height. Once you are, it can be collected.

There are other additional difficulties to it simply being out of reach, however. For one, you need a lot of materials to reach them due to their distance from the ground. Our recommendation is to chop down some trees for some quick and easy wooden materials. Otherwise, loot boxes can help.

The other thing, like building any structure in Fortnite, is that it attracts a lot of attention. As such, you'll want to do it when you are alone, so other players can't shoot at you from a distance.

If you are struggling, then we recommend trying it one of the LTM modes - such as 50v50 - which splits the map so you're surrounded by other friendly players more often, meaning you won't be obstructed from climbing up and getting on with the challenge.
