Modern Warfare Blueprints explained: How to unlock and use Blueprints in multiplayer

Publish date: 2022-12-19

Call‌ ‌of‌ ‌Duty:‌ ‌Modern‌ ‌Warfare‌ ‌Blueprints‌ ‌are‌ ‌one‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌things‌ ‌you‌ ‌should‌ ‌probably‌ ‌be‌ ‌hunting‌ ‌for‌ ‌if‌ ‌you're‌ ‌looking‌ ‌to‌ ‌level‌ ‌up‌ ‌in‌ ‌multiplayer.‌

Generally‌ ‌speaking,‌ ‌you'll‌ ‌unlock‌ ‌weapons‌ ‌as‌ ‌you‌ ‌level‌ ‌up‌ ‌and‌ ‌ascend‌ ‌the‌ ‌ranks of multiplayer,‌ ‌but‌ ‌Blueprints‌ ‌let‌ ‌you‌ ‌mess‌ ‌around‌ ‌with‌ ‌the‌ ‌order‌ ‌of‌ ‌things‌.

Instead‌ ‌of‌ ‌having‌ ‌to‌ ‌grind‌ ‌until‌ a certain ‌level‌,‌ ‌you‌ ‌can‌ ‌simply‌ ‌choose‌ ‌to‌ ‌unlock‌ ‌a‌ ‌Blueprint,‌ ‌giving you ‌access‌ ‌to‌ ‌a‌ ‌powerful‌ ‌weapon‌ ‌far‌ ‌earlier‌ ‌than‌ ‌you‌ ‌might‌ ‌generally‌ ‌be‌ ‌able‌ ‌to.‌

Modern Warfare Blueprints explained: What are Blueprints in Modern Warfare, and how do you use them?

Blueprints‌ ‌allow‌ ‌you‌ ‌to‌ ‌gain‌ ‌early access‌ ‌to‌ ‌weapons‌ ‌that‌ ‌are‌ ‌far‌ ‌beyond‌ ‌your‌ ‌level.‌ ‌Not‌ ‌only‌ ‌that,‌ ‌but‌ ‌they‌ ‌often‌ ‌come‌ ‌with‌ ‌attachments‌ ‌already‌ ‌equipped‌ ‌and‌ ‌fancy‌ ‌skins.‌ ‌This‌ ‌makes‌ ‌them‌ ‌an‌ ‌excellent‌ ‌way‌ ‌to‌ ‌help‌ ‌your‌ ‌performance‌ ‌in‌ ‌battle,‌ ‌and‌ ‌also‌ ‌makes‌ ‌them‌ ‌well‌ ‌worth‌ ‌the‌ ‌effort‌ ‌to‌ ‌acquire.‌

You can view the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Blueprints by heading to the Armory section of the weapons tab to see what you already have.

To do this, head to your loadout screen and scroll down to the gun that you've got a blueprint for.

You'll see that just to the right of the weapon itself is a link to the Armory, select that, and you'll bring up the various Blueprints you have for that weapon. Simply choose the one you want, and you'll have it equipped in that loadout from now on.

How to get Blueprints in Modern Warfare

There are four ways to get Blueprints in Modern Warfare:

While the first two come and go - make sure you check into the Battle Pass and Store regularly to see what Blueprints are on offer - it's worth focusing on the 'free' Blueprints you can also earn in-game.

Unlocking‌ ‌the‌ ‌Blueprints‌ ‌this way Modern Warfare can‌ ‌be‌ ‌a‌ ‌lengthy‌ ‌process,‌ ‌but‌ ‌it's‌ ‌not‌ ‌a‌ ‌complex‌ ‌one.‌

Head‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌multiplayer‌ ‌mode,‌ ‌then‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌Barracks‌ ‌tab,‌ ‌and‌ ‌then‌ ‌have‌ ‌a‌ ‌look‌ ‌at‌ ‌the‌ ‌multiplayer‌ ‌Challenges‌ ‌section.‌ ‌Switch‌ ‌from‌ ‌the‌ ‌Daily‌ ‌Challenges‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌Missions,‌ ‌and‌ ‌you'll‌ ‌be‌ ‌shown‌ ‌a‌ ‌lot‌ ‌of‌ ‌different‌ ‌missions‌ ‌to‌ ‌undertake.‌

There‌ ‌are‌ ‌a‌ ‌few‌ ‌different‌ ‌rewards‌ ‌for‌ ‌doing‌ ‌the‌ ‌missions,‌ ‌but‌ ‌you'll‌ ‌be‌ ‌able‌ ‌to‌ ‌see‌ ‌that‌ ‌many‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌missions‌ ‌grant‌ ‌you‌ ‌new‌ ‌Blueprints‌ ‌for‌ ‌completing‌ ‌them.‌

If you're not familiar with missions, ‌each‌ ‌one ‌is‌ ‌broken‌ ‌into‌ ‌different‌ ‌objectives,‌ ‌and‌ ‌each‌ ‌of‌ ‌these‌ ‌has‌ ‌to‌ ‌be‌ ‌completed‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌correct‌ ‌order‌ ‌to‌ ‌complete‌ ‌it.‌

Once‌ ‌you've‌ ‌completed‌ ‌each‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌objectives,‌ ‌you'll‌ ‌unlock‌ ‌the‌ ‌Blueprint,‌ ‌and‌ ‌you'll‌ ‌then‌ ‌have‌ ‌access‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌new‌ ‌weapon‌ ‌along‌ ‌with‌ ‌all‌ ‌of‌ ‌its‌ ‌attachments.‌

However,‌ ‌you'll‌ ‌need‌ ‌to‌ ‌level‌ ‌up‌ that weapon ‌and‌ ‌unlock‌ ‌everything‌ ‌separately‌ ‌if‌ ‌you're‌ ‌hoping‌ ‌to‌ ‌customise‌ ‌things to your liking.‌

The best in-game Blueprints in Modern Warfare

Though just like best guns there is no true definitive best, the best Blueprints are probably the legendary ones.

There are three legendary Call of Duty Modern Warfare Blueprints available outside of the XRK M4A1 pre-order and Store / Battle Pass purchases we would recommend:

All of these are powerful weapons, but if you're looking for a good set up, then you'd be hard-pressed to beat one that includes both Ending Misery and Judgement thanks to the variable range that the two weapons give you between them.

That being said, we would be remiss not to mention the Plague Sore blueprint, as it is a sniper rifle, and they're very well positioned (pun intended) at the moment in the meta.
