Control - Weapon Forms list, how to unlock and upgrade Special Weapon Forms

Publish date: 2022-12-21

Weapon Forms are upgrades to your Service Weapon, your main weapon against the Hiss, in Control.

Each Form changes the Service Weapon's performance, allowing you to unleash a variety of attacks upon your enemies. The Shatter form, for example, is perfect for attacking groups of oncoming Hiss, while the Pierce form helps take out enemies who are protected by shields.

Like creating Mods, you unlock new Weapon Forms through Astral Constructs, which accessible at Control Points.

How to unlock new Weapon Forms in Control

You unlock new Weapon Forms by visiting a Control Point and selecting Astral Constructs. From there, select Weapon Forms.

New Weapon Forms will appear here as you progress through the storyline of Control. Simply select the Weapon Form you want to unlock it, as long as you have the required Materials, of course.

Each Weapon Form costs a combination of Source Energy and Materials.

Source Energy can be found by defeating the Hiss and deconstructing Mods.

While the various Materials can be found by opening Chests, defeating the Hiss and completing Board Countermeasures. The Material you receive will be randomly selected, however, so don't be surprised if you have to go hunting for a specific ingredient.

How to upgrade Weapon Forms in Control

Upgrades for each Weapon Form will also appear in the Weapon Form Astral Constructs menu.

Each upgrade for a Weapon Form will increase its stats and unlock a Mod Slot. You can unlock 2 additional Mod Slots for each Weapon Form, allowing you to add 3 Mods in total. There are also Weapon Form specific Mods, so you can diverse the boosts for each different Weapon Form.

Like unlocking new Weapon Forms, upgrading the Forms also costs a combination of Source Energy and Materials.
