Talk to the Toad at the Castle!

With Bowser defeated, and the wedding finally called off, you'd think Super Mario Odyssey had dropped its final curtain. Well, think again. The game has plenty more to show, and it all starts at the Mushroom Kingdom. The classic locale, recreated with nostalgic care straight from Super Mario 64, is a proper realm all unto itself, complete with Power Moons, regional coins and unique items available from the Crazy Cap shop.

To reach this area, you simply need to finish the story objectives on the Moon Kingdom. Once the credits have rolled, the camera will pan down to Mario taking a brief nap on a hill. Wake him by pressing any button on your Joy-Cons and start making your way over to Peach's Castle. When the reach the foot of the castle, you'll learn that Princess Peach has gone missing…

Archivist Toadette achievements and what to do in Super Mario Odyssey's end game

Turns out Peach has decided to head out into the world with Tiara and do a little bit of exploring now she's free of Bowser and his neediness. In fact, you'll be able to find Peach on every kingdom you've been to so far, and finding her will unlock a previously unattainable Power Moon on each. Best of all, you now have free rein to explore the castle grounds and unearth its many secrets.

Those secrets include a unique set of Power Moons (shaped like stars, but still called moons - go figure) which aren't about finding a specific collectible in the region, but completing an objective across the entire game. For instance, unlocking Power Moons from chests, speaking with Peach and much more tied to these challenges and completing each one will net you a special Power Moon.

To get access to the rewards, and to unlock the system, you'll need to go inside Peach's Castle and speak with the Archivist Toadette. She'll add the new challenges - which will be added to your Lists for the Mushroom Kingdom - and you can return to her at any time to receive the rewards for your hard work. There are 60 in total, and you'll get your first one for defeating Bowser at the end of the story - result!

Oh, and of course, there's 43 Power Moons to find here, spread across the grounds, in hat door challenges and other unique places (such as the chance to reattempt previous boss battles only with some added difficulty sprinkled in for good measure.
