FNaF World has been removed from sale, refunds offered

Five Nights at Freddy's World (or FNaF World for short) has been removed from sale on Steam after a flurry of complaints that the game wasn't up to snuff - a sentiment our own Johnny Chiodini would agree with.

This was not Steam's decision, but rather developer Scott Cawthon who chose to recall it after launching the premature build a month prior to its planned release date.

"Even though the game had a 'Very Positive' rating with 87 per cent, I was not satisfied with the reviews and ratings it was getting," Cawthon said in a Steam update for Five Night's at Freddy's 4. "For that reason, I've decided to remove the game from Steam."

On the plus side, everyone who paid for the game will receive a refund, regardless of how long they played it. This too was Cawthon's gesture after agreeing with the backlash towards the RPG spin-off. "It may take them a while to set that up, but it will be in place soon," Cawthon said of the refund policy.

This doesn't mean FNaF is going away for good, as the developer still intends to finish what he touted as the final entry in the Five Nights at Freddy's series. "I'm still going to work on FNaF World and polish it up. I'm busy creating a fully 3D overworld for the game," he stated.

More good news: FNaF World will now be a free game. "When I'm ready to update the game, I will replace the demo currently on GameJolt with the full game. From this point forward, the game will always be free," Cawthon noted.
