Eve Online mobile game Eve Echoes launches today
The Eve Online mobile game Eve Echoes launches today.
The free-to-download iOS and Android MMO includes features players of Eve Online will be familiar with, such as mining, exploration, PvP and PvE. There's trading, too, in a persistent universe of over 8000 solar systems.
Eve Echoes exists in a parallel New Eden for players. Battles can hit up to 100 players, which is nowhere near as many as in the PC version, but pretty impressive for mobile. There's an open, player-driven market, and you can establish your own Corporations and join alliances.
Here's the launch video:
Eve Echoes is the work of Eve Online developer CCP Games and NetEase, the Chinese company that publishes Eve Online in China, and is currently developing mobile game Diablo Immortal.
"I'm very excited to see what millions of mobile players will bring to the EVE universe," said CCP boss Hilmar Veigar Pétursson.
"I'm sure we'll see some new adventures, new social structures and new paradigms being formed, which will inspire us, just like EVE on PC has done, to take EVE Echoes, EVE Online and all the EVE games even further than we could have ever imagined."
NetEase said in the future it will add more features from Eve to the mobile game, such as Sovereignty and larger ship hulls. Expect crossover events between Eve Echoes and Eve Online, too.
